Pune — The Artificial Limb Centre (ALC), Pune, had the distinguished honor of hosting Padma Shri Murlikant Petkar, the esteemed Paralympic gold medalist, on August 17, 2024. Mr. Petkar, renowned for his remarkable achievements and contributions to the Paralympic sports community, was warmly welcomed by Brigadier C.N. Satish, Commandant of ALC, along with all ranks.
During his visit, Mr. Petkar toured the Centre, interacting with both the patients and staff, as well as engaging with a group of schoolchildren who were also visiting ALC. His presence served as a significant morale booster for the amputee patients, symbolizing unwavering determination in the face of physical, mental, and social challenges.

The Artificial Limb Centre, Pune, is the premier rehabilitation facility of the Indian Armed Forces. Over its nearly 80 years of service, ALC has successfully rehabilitated thousands of amputee patients, instilling in them hope for a brighter future.
