Pune: The successful journey of Pune District Milk Producers Union continues, and its 65th Annual General Meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere on Friday, 27th September 2024. The Managing Director welcomed everyone at the beginning of the meeting. The current Chairman of the Union and President of the meeting, Mr. Bhagwan Dnyanoba Pasalkar, reviewed the progress of the Union during the reporting year. He mentioned that under the guidance of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Ajit Pawar, the Pune District Cooperative Milk Producers Union is making progress.
In the General Assembly of the Union, it was revealed that the turnover for the financial year 2023-24 amounted to ₹371 crores, with a net profit of ₹3 crores 1 lakh 57 thousand. Despite no provisions last year, a difference of ₹1 per liter was paid as the milk price difference.
During the meeting, the following topics were discussed and approved:
– The financial statement for the year 2023-24, profit-loss statement, profit distribution, annual report, audit report, and budget,
– The construction of a new plant with modern machinery for milk and milk products production and the building of a new administrative office,
– Cancellation of membership of non-active milk supply institutions,
– Appointment of auditors, etc.
Considering the provisions for the milk sold in the financial year 2023-24, the Union announced a price difference of ₹1 per liter. However, institution representatives demanded a ₹2 price difference. After addressing the questions raised by the milk producers, the Chairman and the Board of Directors ensured the meeting was concluded amicably. The Union continuously makes decisions in the interest of milk producers and always strives to provide maximum milk purchase rates to the producers. The Chairman appealed to milk-producing farmers to cooperate with the Union.
At today’s Annual General Meeting, 16 exemplary milk institutions that performed excellently were selected and awarded certificates, honor plaques, and incentives for producing clean milk. Additionally, 11 institutions that sold the highest quantity of cattle feed were awarded prizes, plaques, and cash incentives of around ₹11,000 to encourage increased cattle feed sales.
The milk producers expressed satisfaction and joy over the Union’s growth and success. Many past and present directors, along with representatives of milk-producing institutions and farmers, were present at the meeting. The Vice Chairman of the Union, Mr. Bhau Devade, expressed his gratitude.
