Alaska, 29 January– A U.S. Air Force F-35 fighter jet crashed during a training exercise at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, officials confirmed.
Col. Paul Townsend, commander of the 354th Fighter Wing, stated that the pilot experienced an “inflight malfunction” and declared an emergency before the crash. The aircraft went down during the landing phase of the flight.
The pilot successfully ejected and is in stable condition, currently undergoing medical evaluation. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
