Nairobi: Jambojet De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 aircraft sustained damage during overnight maintenance at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi. The airline reported that the aircraft rolled off the ramp while parked and collided with a pole, resulting in damage to its nose.
In an official statement, Jambojet confirmed that no injuries were reported among its staff during the incident.
“Our team is working diligently with the authorities to investigate the matter and ensure all necessary measures are taken to prevent a recurrence,” the airline assured.
The incident has raised questions about safety protocols during aircraft maintenance at one of Africa’s busiest airports. The airline has not disclosed the extent of the damage or the potential impact on its operations.
