
Pune, December 3, 2024: A Convocation Ceremony for the Engineer Officers Degree Engineering (EODE) Course-126 and Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course-42 was held at Sarvatra Hall, College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune. During the ceremony, 31 officers from the EODE course and 37 officers from the TES course, including international officers from Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Zimbabwe, were awarded Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degrees in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
The event’s Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, delivered the valedictory address. He emphasized the increasing complexities in defense infrastructure and urged the graduating officers to stay updated with technological advancements and use innovative approaches to address future challenges. Lieutenant General A K Ramesh, Commandant, CME, also addressed the gathering, encouraging the young officers to continuously refine their professional skills and remain at the forefront of engineering innovation.
The academic report for the Autumn Term 2024 was presented by Major General Gaurav Kaushal, Vishisht Seva Medal, Deputy Commandant and Dean, CME.
Awards and Achievements
The prestigious Gold Medals were presented to the top-performing officers:
B.Tech (Civil Engineering): Captain Divas Negi (EODE-126) and Lieutenant Mohak Walia (TES-42).
B.Tech (Electrical Engineering): Captain Lalit Kumar, who also received the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) award for Best Student.
B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering): Lieutenant Adamya Pratap Singh.
The ARTRAC awards for Best Student in Civil Engineering were conferred on Captain Purnima Tiwari (EODE-126) and Lieutenant Amandeep Singh (TES-42).
The graduating officers showcased their expertise through project presentations on contemporary engineering topics, highlighting innovations in civil engineering, geographical information systems, and mechanical and electrical engineering.
This convocation marks a significant milestone in their careers, equipping these officers to meet the evolving demands of the defense sector with technical proficiency and leadership.
