Pune: Seattle-Tacoma International Airport authorities confirmed an unticketed individual was arrested on Christmas Eve after being discovered aboard Delta Air Lines flight 487, which was headed to Hawaii. The incident occurred as the plane was taxiing for departure, prompting it to return to the gate.
The unidentified individual was charged with trespassing and booked into South Correctional Entity jail. Authorities revealed that the stowaway managed to bypass a TSA security checkpoint the previous evening without a boarding pass, although they underwent proper security screening.
Delta Airlines has faced a similar incident recently, as this marks the second stowaway case in just over a month. TSA stated that it is actively cooperating with the Port of Seattle Police to investigate the breach and ensure such incidents are prevented in the future.
