Halifax, Dec 29, 2024 – An Air Canada Express aircraft operated by PAL Airlines sustained significant damage during a landing incident at Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Saturday night.
According to Air Canada spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick, the Bombardier DHC-8-402Q experienced a “suspected landing gear issue” upon arrival. The aircraft was unable to taxi to the terminal, necessitating the evacuation of all 73 passengers and crew via bus.
Although Fitzpatrick confirmed that no injuries were reported, Nova Scotia RCMP, who responded alongside paramedics, stated that minor injuries occurred during the incident.
Authorities and airline officials are investigating the cause of the suspected landing gear failure. Meanwhile, Air Canada has assured passengers of their commitment to safety and offered support to those affected.
