Fort Lauderdale, FL: Two unidentified bodies were discovered in the wheel well of a JetBlue A320 aircraft at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport late Monday night. The grim discovery was made during a routine post-flight maintenance inspection, according to JetBlue.
The airline confirmed that the aircraft had most recently operated as Flight 1801, which departed from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and landed in Fort Lauderdale at 11:10 p.m. JetBlue stated that the circumstances surrounding how the individuals gained access to the plane remain under investigation.
This tragic incident comes just two weeks after a similar occurrence when a body was found in the wheel bay of a United Airlines flight traveling from Chicago to Maui.
