Michigan, USA– A 40-year-old Indian doctor, Oumair Aejaz, residing in Michigan, has been arrested on severe charges related to sexual offenses, including the unauthorized recording of nude images and videos of children and women. Aejaz, who came to the U.S. from India in 2011 and began working in Michigan in 2018, was apprehended on August 8 after his wife presented explicit videos to authorities.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard revealed that Aejaz had hidden cameras in various locations, including bathrooms, changing areas, hospital rooms, and even his own home. He also reportedly recorded himself engaging in sexual acts with unconscious women. The investigation, still in its early stages, has uncovered a hard drive containing over 13,000 videos, and authorities believe that some of these may have been uploaded to cloud storage.
Aejaz was formally indicted on August 13 with one count of child sexually abusive activity, four counts of capturing images of an unclothed person, and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime. His bond has been set at $2 million.
The case is particularly disturbing, as it includes an incident from 2023 where Aejaz allegedly recorded a mother and her children in a changing room at the Goldfish Swimming Club. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald expressed outrage, highlighting that these victims were in a place where they should have felt safe.
The investigation continues, with authorities sifting through a massive amount of alarming and jarring evidence. Sheriff Bouchard remarked on the extensive nature of the crime, stating, “The victimization is so broad and the perversion so great, we’re just beginning to wrap our arms around it.”
This case has shocked the local community, as Aejaz was considered a trusted medical professional before these horrific allegations came to light.
