Pimpri Chinchwad: Pieces of wood fell on the road due to negligence while working on the metro station. One cyclist was injured. The incident took place on Monday (Dec. 20) at 9 am at Nashik Fata Metro Station. A case has been registered against the person responsible for the construction of the metro station.
The injured has been identified as Amol Faqira Kadam (40, resident of Shirgaon, Tal. Maval). He has lodged a complaint at Bhosari police station.
According to the police, metro work is underway in Pimpri Chinchwad. Work on Nashik Fata Metro Station is underway at Nashik Fata. The work has been outsourced by Metro to a contractor. The concerned workers of the contractor did not take any measures for the safety of the citizens passing by the road. So a piece of wood fell on the road.
Meanwhile, plaintiff Amol Kadam and his wife were traveling on a two-wheeler. A piece of wood from a metro station fell on Amol’s head. Fortunately, Amol was not seriously injured as he was wearing a helmet. He sustained minor injuries. However, a case has been registered under Section 337 of the Indian Penal Code against the persons responsible for the construction of the metro station for non-compliance with safety measures. Assistant Police Inspector Kalyan Ghadge is investigating.
