Pune– India’s star wrestler Bajrang Punia has done well in the ongoing Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022) in Birmingham and has defeated Canada’s Lachlan McNally by a margin of 9-2 in the 65 kg category. So India has got the first medal in the ongoing competition. The sixth gold medal has been won. Add News Sakshi Malik of India has won silver medal in women’s 57 kg weight category at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier also in 2018, Bajrang Punia won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games. He won a silver medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

 

Along with Bajrang Punia, women’s wrestler Sakshi Malik also performed well to win another gold medal for India at the Commonwealth Games. Sakshi Malik has done well and this performance has won gold medal in 62 kg weight category. Sakshi Malik’s performance yesterday was worth watching. Her match was often a struggle. Therefore, her game of yesterday has become more popular with people. Initially, she was trailing 0-4. But after the match reached the final stage, Sakshi Malik played well and outwitted the rival wrestler. Sakshi Malik has won the gold medal despite her poor performance in the beginning.

Golden Rush of Indian Wrestlers

Indian wrestlers have done their best in the Commonwealth Games. Bajrang Punia, Deepak Punia, Sakshi Malik and Anshu Malik have engraved their names on the gold medal. These athletes in different weight groups beat their opponents by presenting good games. President Draupadi Murmu along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi have congratulated these players.
