Thiruvananthapuram, August 01: Monkeypox, which has entered India, has now claimed to be its first victim. A 22-year-old man has died of smallpox. So there has been a stir. The first case of monkeypox in the country has been reported in Kerala, where the country’s first monkeypox death has occurred. After Corona, now there is a fear of monkeypox.

The man who died of monkeypox came to India from UAE on 22 July. After that he developed monkeypox-like symptoms. He was admitted to the hospital on July 27. He died on 30 July. After his death, his samples were sent to NIV in Pune for testing. Whose report has come positive. This means that the young man gets monkeypox and it is clear that the cause of his death is the monkeypox virus.

Monkeypox in Kerala, Delhi

 

There are three cases of monkeypox in the country in Kerala and one in Delhi. On July 14, the first case of monkeypox was reported in Kollam, Kerala. This is the first patient of monkeypox in India. He had high fever and rash all over his body. He came to India from UAE on 12 July. He had come in contact with a monkeypox-infected patient in the UAE. Then on July 18, another patient was found in Kannur. The 31-year-old patient also came from Dubai. He returned from Dubai on July 13 and gradually started showing symptoms. His symptoms were the same as the first patient. The third patient from Malappur, who was found on July 22, has also returned from UAE. He reached India from UAE on 6 July and started showing symptoms on 13 July.

After that the fourth patient in the country was found in Delhi. The patient is 34 years old and has never traveled abroad. But they attended a bachelor party in Manali, Himachal Pradesh on the eve of a wedding. This is the first patient in the country who has not traveled abroad.
