Guwahati, July 29 : An IndiGo flight from Jorhat in Assam to Kolkata was canceled on Thursday. During take-off the plane skidded off the runway and its wheels got stuck in the muddy ground and the flight was aborted. Due to this, the plane remained there for a long time.
The aircraft was sent for inspection as per the pilot’s instructions. However, initial investigations did not reveal any problem with the flight. No passenger was injured in the incident.
A local journalist uploaded a photo on Twitter showing the plane skidding off the runway and its wheels stuck in the grass. Tagging IndiGo, he said Guwahati-Kolkata IndiGo Flight 6F 757 skidded off the runway and got stuck in muddy ground at Jorhat airport in Assam. The flight was scheduled to depart at 2.20 pm, but the flight was canceled after the incident.
An AAI official said the plane had some technical glitch and the flight was canceled around 8:15 pm. There were 98 passengers on the plane. All passengers have disembarked and are safe. When contacted, the spokesperson of Indigo said that we are currently verifying the information.
