Sikh in Canada: A large number of Sikhs live and work in Canada, but there has been a rage among Sikhs due to a move by the administration. The Toronto City Administration has fired more than 100 security guards because of their beards. After this there is huge anger in Sikh organizations. The administration says that N95 masks are common for security guards and Sikhs are unable to wear them properly due to their beards. That’s why a clean shave guard is needed for this complete fitting. Bearing on the face is not allowed during the fit test.
The World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) has demanded the immediate reinstatement of fired Sikh security guards. The City of Toronto recently launched ‘Clean Shave’ recruitment for security guards at city sites. As a result, Sikh security guards have been fired.
WSO chief Tejinder Singh Sidhu says that it is not right that Sikh security guards are being fired and re-recruited for not being clean shaven during the pandemic. The mayor of the city also says that a solution should be found for the Sikh security guards. The Sikh guards who were removed should be reinstated immediately.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains has also appealed to repeal this rule by vetting. He has written that the beard and mustache are the pride and identity of the Sikh. The city administration should immediately repeal this rule. This has caused a wave of anger in the Sikh world.
