The share of Hindus and Muslims in Australia’s population has increased rapidly. According to the latest census figures, the Christian population in the country is less than 50 percent. Apart from this, the number of non-believers i.e. atheists has increased to 39 percent and in the last 5 years it has increased by 9 percent. Census is conducted every 5 years in Australia, whose data has revealed many new information. According to statistics, the population of Australia has exceeded 25 million. Now the population of the country has gone up to 25.55 million, which was 2.34 million in 2016. In this way the population of the country has increased by 21 lakh in the last 5 years.

Census figures show that for the first time in Australia, the number of Christians in the country has dropped below 50 per cent. Now only 44% of Christians remain in Australia. Whereas 50 years ago this figure was 90 percent. Even after this, the number of people who believe in Christianity is still the highest in the country. After this, 39 percent of the people at number two are those who do not believe in any religion. Australia is one of the countries in the world where the percentage of atheists is so high in the total population.
Rapid increase in the population of those who believe in Hinduism
Not only this, Hinduism and Islam have also been seen growing rapidly in Australia. Even after this, the number of people following both the religions is only 3-3 percent. But a comparison with the last census shows that the number of people of both the religions is increasing. In 2016 Australia had a Hindu population (1.9%) and a Muslim population (2.6%). In this way, there has been a big increase in the number of Hindus in Australia. The reason for this is that the number of Hindus immigrating to Australia from all over the world including India has increased rapidly.

A quarter of Indians coming from other countries over the years
Another thing has come to the fore in the data that more than half of the country’s population is either born abroad or their parents were born abroad. During the Corona epidemic, the speed of those coming to Australia from other countries has slowed down a bit. But during the last five years, more than one million people have come to the country from other countries. About a quarter of these people have arrived there from India. Australia currently has the largest number of people who were born in Australia. Then there are people who were born in England. After these two countries, the third number is of people who were born in India.
