Pune: Lieutenant General JS Nain, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Aide-De-Camp, General Officer Commanding-In-Chief, Southern Command, visited Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) and Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) at Wellington, Nilgiris on 20-21 September 2022. The visit was conducted to the two premier training institutes, one a tri-services institute drawing the best mid-level officers from across the globe and the other for soldiers of the Indian Army’s Madras Regiment. The General Officer reviewed the training and administrative facilities of the two institutions.

In this address to the faculty and students at DSSC, he outlined the vision of the Indian Army in 2050 stressing upon the doctrinal, technological and human resource management benchmarks that need to be accomplished. He encouraged the audience to embrace the challenges of the future and highlighted the requirement of understanding the whole-of-nation approach towards meeting them.

During his visit to the Madras Regimental Centre, he complimented the staff and the recruits for the high standards of training and the facilities created. He also reiterated the need to be ready to absorb the new developments in technology and equipment being inducted by the Indian Army in keeping with the vision of a modern force.
