PUNE: 29 trainee Officers of the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard, belonging to 93rd batch of Marine Engineering Specialisation Course successfully completed 105 weeks of professional training at INS Shivaji on 02 Jul 22.

The trainees were imparted training on varied aspects of Marine Engineering and were actively involved in technical research on array of naval projects including AI based systems. Vice Admiral KM Deshmukh, AVSM, VSM, Controller of Warships Production and Acquisition reviewed the Passing Out Parade of the course. Trophies were awarded to officers excelling in various fields. The ‘Hammer’ was awarded to the best All Round Officer, Lt Sachin Kumar Singh, Vice Admiral Daya Shankar Rolling trophy for ‘Best Sportsman’ was awarded to Lt Sudhanshu Kumar and Lt Joseph Johnson was awarded the ‘Positive Living Officer’. First in overall order of academic merit was awarded to Lt Sachin Kumar Singh and the Best Project Syndicate was awarded to Lt Vishal Trimurthy, Lt Ashwin Babu, Lt Ponmani S, Lt Gowrav N and Lt Thanuj Shetty for project on “Design and Development of Centrifugal Pump”.

As part of infrastructure development and augmentation of training, a new 80 men block for accommodation of trainee sailors and a new Steam Propulsion Plant Simulator for INS Vikramaditya, was inaugurated during the event.
